Junior Accountant
Job Purpose:
The overall task of the Accounting & Finance Intern is Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices. Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Assist with other accounting projects.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivables.
- Handle tax reporting; handle bank clearing activities; handle month-end & year-end reports
- Carry out any clerical activities related to finance and accounting.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and recording.
- Liaise with senior accountants to improve financial procedures.
- Comply to any other assignments given by immediate supervisor and management.
Job Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, and competence required for the position
- 1st degree in accounting or Accounting and Finance
- Experience is not mandatory but advantageous
- Good communication skill
